The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is excited to be a part of the LiveWell Challenge by working with partners and communities statewide to enhance the health and wellness of all Nebraskans. The LiveWell Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to help people live better and healthier lives by focusing on getting active. The Physical Activity Guidelines for American’s suggests achieving 150 minutes a week of physical activity for significant health improvement.
The LiveWell Challenge is a year-long, web-based wellness challenge that begins in January. It is free for individuals to participate and the challenge offers motivation for achieving and tracking physical activity minutes, walking/running/biking miles, race participation and trail usage.
I urge you to participate in the challenge and hope that you enjoy the benefits of a physically active lifestyle. It is really easy to get started: (1) sign up to participate in the LiveWell Challenge. (2) grab a pair of shoes, a good friend/family member/coworker/pet and head out for a walk or run on the sidewalk, trail or go to the nearest park; (3) track your activity on the challenge website. Thank you for taking the time to participate in the LiveWell Challenge!
