Site: Adam's Farm, 10 miles west of Loup City, Nebraska on Hwy 92
Event Details: Over the past ten years, the Cow Pie Trail Run has been a labor of love - a deep, never-ending love for the person in whose memory we do it and also for the hills and draws and cow paths and dirt roads we run over. But the rigors of putting on this event are many and time is precious. So we've decided that this year's race will be the last Cow Pie Trail Run.
The best part, by far, of putting on this race is welcoming so many runners and walkers to the beautfiul, Nebraska countryside. If you've done it before, please come back for one last loop through the prarie. And if you've never done it, this is your last chance for a true trail run that will challenge what you think you know about Nebraska!
The 10th Annual Cow Pie Trail Run route is a loop course travel over gravel/dirt roads, cow paths, and the pastures of beautiful central Nebraska. The half marathon route goes through an old tree claim, beside a settler's cemetery, along an old wagon road, by windmills, and abandoned homesteads. This is the wide-open prarie of the pioneers! It is a tough course with holes, ruts, stickers, cow pies, and lots and lots of hills. But if the cows can do it, so can you!
Finishers receive a Cow Pie Finisher Cowboy Hat and participants who register at least two weeks in advance receive a fun, long sleeve cotton Cow Pie tee!
Registration opens 1/2 hour prior to each event.
Yummy pork roast BBQ sandwiches, baked beans, chips, and homemade desserts will be served after the race followed by hayrack rides. A perfect way to celebrate Autumn!
(While we run on dirt, you don't have to drive on dirt to get here!)
